Good home design & a love story
Updated: 1 day ago
Movies and TV shows can be such a source of design inspiration! If you’re looking for some great films to watch during your next cozy night in, I’d recommend Nancy Meyers’ “Something’s Gotta Give” and “Love Story” (which tells the story of Carolyn Bessette and John F. Kennedy Jr.).

John Kennedy's Tribeca Loft as depicted in "Love Story"

John Kennedy's loft design still relevant today, illustrating classic modern design.

One more from a different viewpoint.

Jackie O's apartment on 5th Avenue features classic herringbone floors and bookcases filled to the brim.

Jackie's living room features brocades, floral patterns, gold leaf picture frames, perfect lighting, and a wood burning fireplace.
Even though you might notice different styles in John Kennedy’s downtown loft, Jackie Kennedy’s 5th Avenue apartment, and Diane Keaton’s beach house, there’s one thing they all have in common: their interior designs are timeless. They’re just as beautiful today as they were years ago. That’s really what I strive for in my design work.

Erica Barry's (Diane Keaton) cedar shingle-style Southampton home is perfection. The lush landscape, pea gravel, and front porch are all we need. It's relaxed, refined, not overly stylized.

A great example of classic American design.

A bedroom that has it all: plentiful seating arrangements, a spacious desk area, large windows, and French doors.
Good design is a lasting thing, and that’s not to say we won’t want to add to our collections over the years, update a few pieces, or rearrange a few things for fun. The foundations stay tried and true.
